Last few weeks in Banff!

Hello to all back home in NZ!

well time has flown and the winter season is well and truely over.....
someone has so kindly switched the summer button on and created a beautiful couple of weeks to end
an amazing 6months for me in the canadian rockies.
from: snowing & approx 1-2degrees on our very last day at Lake Louise -
to: sunshine & 20degrees just a few days latter here in Banff

having had to move out of my rented place in Banff, I am currently mastering the art of couch-surfing/bed borrowing.

as the time has come; to apprehend the next step, in my venture over in this part of the world, I have spent a good lot of time, this past week, to myself: relaxing, absorbing, marvelling, &contemplating .....

The sun has been out and beconing locals to bask in it beside the Bow River:

It runs through Banff- glacier feed from the mountains.
Wilderness is always close at hand....making this area one's home you learn to easily share this beautiful location with the guys who found it first:
two large elk a few feet from me in the park

Tunnel mountain- the savior/sustainer of strength after 160days of skiing

This is looking down at the town of Banff, from the top of tunnel mountain (meg & dog in foreground)

Looking back at the week previous....

Our closing/clean up week at Lake Louise was one of the most enjoying ones to say the least!
Consisting of plenty of new snow &BBQs every day and most nights...approx 25 of us contently stayed around to finish up the epic season:

The cleaning up: broken bamboo. so much. oh so much. clean up week comes with all good fun....with cats at hand to assist

what could be the last times, working along side such unforgetable friends, flew by without a chance to be sad...or see the 'good-byes' approaching.
Plenty of quality time appreciating/marvelling together at the winter 06/07
it didn't need to be said- but these guys are the ones to be thanked:
Manager: Chris Moseley, Superviser: Brad
made for what was the tastiest base anyone could spread the sweetest icing ontop of.

and eat it all up too!

Enthusiastically wanting us all back on board for next season, Chris's arrangements have been on the ball.
the visa's are pretty much awaiting - we just need to say the word!

Relaxing in the serenity, absorbing the outdoors here, I have continuously marvelled at my fortune for this wonderful place and all of the happenings.
limiting not only to the present, I've had spent plenty (of marvelling) at what lies down south...
The most beautiful country- called home, and the most beautiful people of whom i think about every day.

Its hard to imagine that it may be a while until i get to reunite....but with so much to explore, on the mind, my excitement haults the home-sickness in it's tracks to changing the game plan.

At this stage I am looking at pursuing my career, over summer, up north Canada.
(watch this space)
my job hunt is well and truely underway...all I require now is to sit the Canadian Registered Nurses Examination in Kelowna (British Columbia). early june.

in the more near future...plans lies around a not-so-planned road trip accross BC to Vancouver island.
leaving in a couple of days, along side my good kiwi friend- Meg, and two gorgeous french twins- Cami & Charlotte...we will take the subaru legacy to many a camp site, hiking spot, hotsprings....and eventually surf beach-

Tofino! with 18 days up our sleaves, it is set to be a lot of fun times :)

with wishes of good health,
take care all my wonderful family and friends
i hope to talk soon...

lots of love and hugs

xoxo
